• Third of Britons still do not have a dedicated space for working from home
  • 44 inspiring Fitted Home Office ranges to choose from; classic to modern, light to dark, matt or gloss.
  • Fitted Home Office proposition supported by Wickes Design and Installation service

Home Improvement business Wickes has launched its very first standalone Fitted Home Office range, as working from home continues to be part of life for many.

With millions of Britons working from home for almost a year to date, temporary workspaces or makeshift desks have been the mainstay. 26% felt they didn’t have enough space for their computer and paperwork, with 27% saying they couldn’t switch off from it being a working area.  This supports Wickes’ research which shows 51% feel like working from home has disrupted their households, working in areas that need to be used throughout the day for other uses within the home – so this new proposition will help solve the problem.

Wickes Launches First Fitted Home Office Range

The Fitted Home Office range is available through a Wickes Design Consultant who will help customers every step of the way. Much like the retailer’s Showroom kitchen and bathroom offering, a free virtual or in-store design appointment will reveal interactive 3D visuals with 360-degree views of your new home office. Furthermore, these products are available to customers as supply only or with Wickes Approved Installers, who are ready to build your new space.

This new offering, will provide options for all types of Home Office requirements, whether that is a standalone office space within a multipurpose room such as a spare bedroom, or using space which is maybe wasted, such as open plan living space or under the stairs. Depending on your space and style, the Fitted Home Office range is available in classic shaker designs to modern handleless solutions.

Where it was thought to be a temporary solution, 75% believe working from home will stay as it is or become even more frequent. As a result, customers are realising and understanding how flexible living and working could benefit them going forward. With 43% Britons stating that the most important factor for them for a home office is an area that can be cut off/switched off from after work, so having a designated space available is becoming more and more of a necessity.

Paul Bangs, Category Director for Kitchen, Home Office & Flooring at Wickes, commented: “We’ve seen insights from our research and our suppliers into Home Office requirements and the demand for a working space within the home continuing to grow beyond 2020. It’s really clear that working from home is not the same for every person. There are some who need a space 9-5, five days a week and others who just need a nook or workspace to utilise once or twice a week for a few hours. We are so proud of this new launch as it offers customers a solution no matter what their needs or space requirements are, in order to create a Home Office.”
