Keep your bathroom simplistic

Too much “stuff” in your bathroom won’t help to create a relaxing and peaceful environment. You should take the time to clear any unnecessary junk from your bathroom, leaving just the essentials in there.

If you have a small bathroom, doing this will also help to make the area more spacious. It will even give you the illusion that your bathroom is bigger than it is.

Make sure your bathroom is clean

Are you a bit lax when it comes to cleaning? If so, it’s time to turn that around! A clean bathroom will help promote a healthy environment to be in.

Trying to relax in the bath when you can spot mould on the walls and ceiling, and dirt on the floor won’t inspire you to relax! No-one is saying that you have to clean your bathroom from top to bottom on a daily basis. Instead, set aside some time each way to give your bathroom a good clean.

Trust me, the results will be worth it! From a health point of view, a mould-free bathroom will make sure that your asthma doesn’t get worse.

Give your bathroom a makeover

Of course, if your bathroom is about thirty years old, it’s about time you stripped everything out and had a new one installed! It’s a great way of refreshing the style and layout. Some people opt for space-saving wall hung vanity units. Others might even consider underfloor heating.

Whatever you decide, having a relaxing bath in a new bathroom will make your experience more enjoyable.

Turn off the lights

When you want to have a relaxing bath in the evening, keep the lights off. Instead, light some well-placed candles in your bathroom.

The great thing about candles is that they are available in a range of shapes, sizes and colours. Many candles are also scented, so you can even light some nice vanilla or strawberry-scented candles.

Add aromatherapy products to your bath

Whilst you are running the hot water in your bath, be sure to add some aromatherapy products to it. Some people add bubble bath, whereas others add scented oils infused with lavender or peppermint. The oils help you to relax, as do the scents.

Play some chill-out music

Many people also play some relaxing background music when they are in the bath. It helps them to unwind, and it can also block out any noise pollution from other occupants in the house, cars in the street, and so forth.
