Bathroom renovations are expensive, no matter how many corners you try and cut. And,  because of this, a beautiful new fitted bathroom can often seem like an out of reach dream for those with little to spend.

However, there are a few things you can do to your water closet with the smallest of budgets that can make the difference. Of course, it may not be the upgrade of your dreams, but there is plenty you can do to make your space a lot more appealing to the eye. Let’s take a closer look.

Simple Bathroom Makeover Ideas That Don't Cost The Earth

Resurface the bathtub

The bathtub is the focal point for many bathrooms. It’s so big; you can’t avoid it being the first thing you see. It’s vital that your tub looks great at all times because it draws the eye in any time you go into the bathroom. But, you don’t have to replace it in many cases, which can be an expensive investment. Think about resurfacing your tub instead. You could go for a different colour, or even have some patterns put on it. You’ll be left with a great looking tub that looks brand new, for a fraction of the cost.

Regrout your tiles

Another area that can make any bathroom look dingy is the tiling. Again, it takes up such a large amount of the visual space that grotty grout is instantly recognisable. However, you don’t need to rip it all out and spend big on a re-tile – just re-grout instead. You will need a grout remover to help dig out the old stuff, along with a lot of elbow grease. Then it’s just a case of getting the colour of your choice for the new grout and filling in the gaps. It will make your tiles look as good as new – and all for less than £20.

Embrace accessories

Once you have made your bathroom look a lot fresher, you can start looking at accessories. I always think it best to stay with a particular theme or colour scheme in the bathroom, as it intends to make it look tidier and more considered. There are plenty of great accessories available for bathrooms – take a look here for more info. Or, of course, you could go for a more natural look, by bringing in pieces of wood from the beach or creating your own twig picture frames. There’s plenty you can do, and the only real limit is your imagination.

Change your toilet seat!

Finally, there is no point in getting a brand new toilet if you can’t afford it. Just change the seat! It’s amazing what you can pick up, and it will give the most important part of the bathroom an instant facelift. You can tie it into the design of the rest of the room, or go for something more conservative – it’s entirely up to you. But, it can make a big difference.
