Interview with Livettes

Describe yourself in a 5 words.

A young designer willing to collect experience.

What inspires you?

When the music is good, coffee is great and the sun is shining, that’s all it takes…

I’m good at…

seeing the final look of the house from a few bricks.

I’m bad at…

making decisions quickly.

What are the highlights of your career thus far?

I think as Livettes is my first project this could be considered as one of the greatest achievements so far. It basically was started six months ago and now I have several collaboration offers from retailers in Europe and interior designers around the world. But I’m sure that there is a lot more ahead of where I’m going.

What are your goals for the next 5 years?

Develop other projects I’m working on at this moment, to gain experience and knowledge in various directions including fashion and graphic design, photography as well as business and project management.

What do you enjoy most about working in the interior design industry?

I think one of the best parts is working with a client. To understand the person, create something one finds worth having, deliver the very best and being appreciated. That feeling is beyond words.

How did you develop the concept for Livettes? Can you explain how Livettes was started and what was your inspiration behind it?

I have always been interested in simple things. So the look of Livettes also had to depict that idea – simple yet chic. The basic idea was to make people’s lives easier. Adding a charm to their everyday life in less than a few minutes. I think I managed.

What has been the most exciting collaboration you’ve worked on so far?

I’ve had a luck to collaborate in another interior design project – Wallconsilia (wallconsilia.com). In my opinion style of this project is completely different compared to Livettes, which let me try myself out in another direction, making wall decals mainly for nurseries.  And I believe one can never be overeducated.

Are there any areas that are particularly difficult or challenging?

As I mentioned before working with a client is a part I truly enjoy, but it can also be quite difficult. I always want and try to do everything for client to be 100% satisfied, and it is frustrating that sometimes it doesn’t happen that way. I’m still learning that it just doesn’t work that way every single time. 🙂

What do you believe sets you and Livettes apart from your competitors? What are you working on at the moment?

I think the fact I personally talk with each and every one of the clients allows them to feel that I want to help them find the most suitable solution especially for them, so I think it kind of sets Livettes aside from “mass production”.

I’m planning to enrich and diversify the range of products and also to create a website for us to be more approachable.

Do you have any words of wisdom that you would like to pass on?

Be faithful to your own taste, because nothing you really like is ever out of style.

What is the best piece of advice you have been given?

Failure is success in progress.

What do you feel are the most important trends / changes happening in the industry that you feel designers should be aware of?

I think the DIY has become a real trend this year, and people actually enjoy creating things themselves.

What is your most treasured possession?

Art, design or photography collectibles. These are things collected since childhood, which I amazingly still find inspiring.

What is your must-have item for next season?

Knitted pouf. I fell in love with them the first time I saw them. Maybe will even try to make one myself.

Who’s your favourite Style Icon?

Coco Chanel.

Most inspirational person you have met?

One of the professors from university I am studying bachelor. I haven’t seen one person doing one’s job so passionately.. He basically taught me to believe in myself and overcome the fear of failure, because everything you want is on the opposite side of it [fear].

In a nutshell, your philosophy is…

As Coco Chanel once said, “An interior is a natural projection of the soul”, so make the best out of it. 🙂
